“I found out about Sea Otter Lodge… and a few weeks later my kayak and I were on the way! (I know, I have an awesome job!) The place is UNREAL! The serenity, scenery, atmosphere, people, wildlife, hiking, food & THE FISHING are all outstanding!
I’m pumped about their kayak fishing – there are SO many islands that are not only amazing to explore but set the scene for the perfect yak fishin’ adventure: providing structure for fish close to the lodge, protection from weather, calm crystal-clear waters… it’s like a Tailor-Made yak fishin’ experience! If you’ve never tangled with a Chinook or Coho from a Kayak or fought a Halibut or Ling Cod all the way from the deep to wrestling it on to a plastic boat… well, then I feel sorry for you!

“Can’t wait to go back to Sea Otter Lodge!! Epic fishing a quick paddle away, breathtaking scenery, delicious food and a great lodge team that makes you feel like family! What more can you ask for? The fishing was incredible. The variety & size was amazing: Cabazon, Lingcod, 20+ Rockfish varieties, Halibut and of course, Salmon! The kayaks are fully decked with everything you need to head out for a day of ocean fishing or for a beautiful paddle exploring the area. They have 6 Vibe Makana kayaks, 1 Vibe Hydra, powered by Bixby electric motors & decked out with YakAttack accessories. The lodge provided a packed lunch as we headed out on our adventures. I can’t wait to book another trip or 3! My family and my local kayak community need to experience everything Sea Otter Lodge has to offer. I’ll be back! “Our stay in the Sea Otter Lodge was magical. It was the perfect spot for a family or group of all ages and interests. Everyone was able to do what they wanted on their vacation, feel comfortable and relaxed in a setting out of a storybook. The hosts were so generous, we felt welcome in the space upon arrival. We used the kayaks to paddle into Kyuquot and around the islands every day. Each day was like a dream. I was able to paint everyday looking out onto the ocean from the living area. I will never forget this beautiful place. The fishing was fantastic and led to some epic meals prepared & inspired by the awesome kitchen! (The kitchen pantry is well equipped with bulk items i.e. flour, yeast. When we ran out of bread, we just made our own! The home comes with books, music, movies, big TV, games, WiFi, etc as well; no one could ever be bored. I would go back every year if I could. The hosts were helpful, welcoming, and truly understood what families need and want on a holiday.”
